"String of Time"
Materials: • A string long enough to reach across the room. • A bead Song: The Lord is My Light (Hymns, 89) Scripture: Psalms 90:2; 2 Corinthians 4:18, Alma 34:33; D&C 38:1; 52:13; 60:13; 72:3 Previous Preparation: Thread the string through the bead so the bead is in the middle of the string. Lesson: Stretch the string with the bead in the middle across the full length of the room. Attach the ends to the wall or have two students hold the ends. (This could be done before class.) Application: Ask the students what they think the bead represents. (This world, mortal time) What does the string on either side of the bead represent? (One side represents pre-mortal existence and the other side represents the life after this.) Does it really matter what we do on the little, tiny world? Are there some on the pre-mortal side who made unwise choices? (Satan and his followers chose to reject this progressive, mortal experience.) Who determines how far we progress on the post-mortal side? (We do.) Read and discuss several scriptures and help the students to understand the importance of the time they have today.
